15th May 1961: on Colegate and Oak Street men bore and prepare pipework.
1962 : a car ride through Norwich, drives through Tombland, down Magdalen Street, past the junction of Magdalen Street and Botolph Street, along Exchange Street and St Giles going down towards City Hall. Then along St Andrew's Street towards Redwell Street and finally a shot of City Hall from the bottom of Guildhall Hill.

Shops display closing down signs. Queen's Road junction, houses backing onto the city walls at Queen's Road, St Stephen's and an alleyway off St Stephen's.
27th March 1962: the Mayor officially starts the redevelopment. The old road is lifted and new kerb stones and tarmac is laid. There are views of St Stephen's from the top end after demolition of the shops and houses being demolished on Queen's Road. Further road construction in August 1962 is followed by site clearing at St Stephen's and general views from the top of the street including the city walls.
1972: the flyover in Magdalen Street under construction. The Odeon cinema can be seen.
