The postmans delivers a Christmas card for Ian, the envelope is marked 'Dundee'. Father hangs up a Christmas stocking over the fireplace. Mother helps Ian write a letter to Father Christmas. The letter is sent up the chimney and Ian goes to bed. Father, dressed as Santa, fills the stocking including a woolly monkey. Ian comes downstairs at 8pm and opens presents including an electric model railway. He plays with it with his father before Christmas dinner. Ian and his father make a snowman in the garden. Looking through 'Radio Times', there is a close-up of the page for the Christmas Day programmmes. Mother falls asleep in front of the radio. She is invited to go outside and look at the snowman, before Teatime with Christmas cake, sparklers and a fireworks display. The train is tearfully packed away. Ian takes his toy monkey, drinks a cup of milk, and goes to bed.
