Events at the Royal Norfolk Show.

The film begins with a montage of shots that illustrate the different understanding of the word 'show' for townspeople and country people. There are shots of the Royal Show before the main subject, The Royal Norfolk Show, is focused on. The R.A.C. signs direct traffic and visitors begin to arrive at the show. There are shots of the Members' Pavilion, The Royal Pavilion and The Secretary's Office, showing the trophies and prizes to be won at the show.

There are various ring events, including heavy horses, trade carts, hackney carriages and coaches. Show jumping is also featured, including a jump off against the clock and Pony Club displays. Prize cattle follow, including Lincoln Reds, Herefords, Jerseys, Guernsey's, British Friesians red Polls and British Whites. The Sheepdog trials, featuring Mr. W.J. Evans of Monmouthshire and a demonstration of the art of tractor driving, complete the sequence.

In the Grand Ring there is a marching display by a military band and displays by the Metropolitan Mounted Police and a Musical ride by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The dispatch riders from the Royal Corps of Signals give a riding display. They are followed by the West Norfolk Foxhounds and various military bands. These include the 3rd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment, the 'Red Devils', and the Pipes and Kilts of the King's Own Scottish Boarderers accompanied by the Pipe Band of the Glasgow City Police.

The film shows many of the trade exhibits, the forestry stand, horse shoeing, the flower show, agricultural machinery and the stands of many local firms. The services provided are featured including the free bus, the ambulance service, the fire service, the post office, the WVS stand and the nursery.Royal visitors to the show are frequent. Shown in the film, but not necessarily visiting in the same year, are HRH The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Princess Royal, HM The Queen Mother and HM The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen Mother is seen planting a tree to commemorate her visit, visiting the stand of the Local Education Authority and presenting long service awards. The Duke of Edinburgh is seen driving himself around the show as well as taking an official tour with HM The Queen in an open topped car.

The film concludes with the visitors in their cars leaving the show, whilst the clearing up operation begins.
